Residential

Live / Work Residence

This was the fourth year senior capstone project designed for the Brown family. Located in a walkable, new-urbanist community in Asheville, North Carolina, the two-story structure was to serve as both a photography studio and the familly's residence. Designed with Danish-Modern and New Urbanist ideals in mind, craftsmanship, efficiency, and minimalism were applied to all aspects of the home. Hand sketching, AutoCad, Photoshop, and Revit were utilized for this project.

New York Loft

This was a second year project designed for a jet-setting bachelor in New York City. Presented as an empty two-story space, all interior features were considered with respect to it's limited space and original materials. Spacial hierarchy was considered in the movement throughout the space, as were regulating lines, and a separation of public and private areas of the residence. Special attention was allocated to the calculation and placement of the stairs and introduction to construction documentation. Hand drafting, hand rendering, and AutoCad were utilized for this project.

A Weekend Retreat

This was a first year project designed for a couple as a lakeside weekend retreat. With the lot and structure size given as a part of the program, the goal of the design was to create indoor/outdoor spaces that maximized the view while maintaining privacy from the street. With basic understanding of the golden rectangle proportions and regulating lines, the floor and site plans were created. Hand drafting and sketching techniques were utilized for this project.
